A note from our Founder:

Raise your hand if you can relate to this, whether you lived it, or heard about it:

“I sent out 100 cover letters and resumes and heard back from ZERO people”.

I have heard it countless times lately. I never used to hear that lament, pre-Covid. What has changed? Everything.

Generation Z is coming of age, and graduating, as the first Generation whose career dreams and aspirations are under siege by AI. We, the Boomers and Gen X, are here to help you. Because someone once helped us and said “pay it forward”. And because so many of our college-aged children are visibly concerned by the scant career opportunities in the new Artificially Intelligent world. 

Why are we charging $250/mo for a 4 month summer?  That doesn’t sound very pro bono. Answer: we don’t need your $1,000, but we DO need you to have skin in the game, and we do want to cover event expenses and our concierge desk. We are charitable, but we are not a charity. 

If after the season you are not happy with the experience, and the results,  I will personally write you a refund check for the $1,000. But give this some thought: The senior Referring Members in The Agora network will answer your cover letter, read your resume, and will endeavor to help you find an internship, a mentorship, and a job. 

Also, by creating a modern gathering place that mimics the original Agora, we are creating face to face interactions between people who need jobs and people who can help them find jobs, while watching the Minnesota vs Iowa football game. 

Our “why” is simple. Because we know we can help, and there has never been a tougher job market for the NEY candidates (No Experience Yet).
